Trello vs Notion: which to choose (and why you may not have to)
It's one of the most common questions when a team wants to get organized: Trello or Notion?Both are excellent, but they solve different problems. And choosing wrong costs time and money. Let's get to the real differences.
Trello: speed and kanban boards
Trello shines through its simplicity. You drag cards between lists and within ten minutes your team understands the flow. It's ideal for visual processes: a backlog, a sales pipeline, an editorial calendar. The learning curve is almost nonexistent.
The limit shows up when each card needs to be more than a title and a checklist: long documentation, tables, structured content. That's where Trello falls short.
Notion: documents and flexibility
Notion is the opposite: an almost infinite canvas of documents, wikis and databases. Every page can hold as much detail as you want. The cost is complexity: setting up Notion so a team uses it well takes time, and many end up with chaotic workspaces.
The rule of thumb: Trello wins on flow; Notion wins on depth. The problem is that most teams need both.
